FAMILY MINISTRIES

Heartland Family Ministries is focused on meeting the needs of the next generation from cradle (6 weeks old) to college. Our primary goal is to assist parents who are leading their children to become fully devoted followers of Christ. We consider our goal met when students who graduate from high school continue to be devoted to Christ and to His church.

Heartland’s Family Ministries is made up of several core parts…

FIRST IMMPRESSIONS TEAM

Our primary purpose is to warmly welcome and assist new families to Heartland Church Family Ministries and ensure that their children are settled into their appropriate classes with a smooth and informed transition.We desire that everyone feels welcome and that they are confident that their children are safe and are going to be well cared for during service.

SPECIAL NEEDS TEAM:

Our vision for the team at this point is to provide each special needs child with a one-on-one "buddy" each week. We think this will be better than trying to run one special needs class of kids with a variety of needs and of different ages and developmental stages. This way each child can participate with their peers to the best of their abilities (i.e. "mainstreaming"). Our goal is to really get to know the child and his/her family and be a source of real support for them at church and in other ways (for example, helping the our families with meals when their children are in the hospital, or doing some home-sitting for the child some weeks during cold and flu season when some children are especially vulnerable to infections).
